Yakup, a former sailor, lives with his granddaughter Cavidan. Cavidan is a memento of his late daughter Melodi. Yakup has diabetes, and his condition is getting worse. He loves to eat. Despite Cavidan's best efforts, he secretly eats unhealthy foods. Grandpa Yakup has two other daughters named Çiçek and Irmak. Both are married.
