Sam Moore, born on October 12, 1935, was an American R&B and soul singer best known as one half of the iconic duo Sam & Dave. With partner Dave Prater, they achieved tremendous success in the 1960s, producing hits like "Soul Man" and "Hold On, I'm Comin'."
