Nguyễn Khắc Lợi (August 23, 1932 – August 2, 2024) was a Vietnamese director, known for both his documentary films and his war dramas, many of which are literary adaptations. He began his career as a secondary camera operator for Roman Karmen's "Việt Nam" (1955), and belonged to the first generation of Vietnamese filmmakers who were sent to the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Soviet Russia to study their craft. Later in his life, he became one of the first mentors at the Hanoi Academy of Theater and Cinema. Among his mentees is screenwriter and director Phạm Nhuệ Giang.
