Born in Caruaru, he developed a career defined by aesthetic experimentation and a deep connection to Northeastern roots, often collaborating with director Renata Pinheiro through their production company, Aroma Filmes. His most notable works include the documentary Estradeiros (2011), which won Best Film from the Brazilian Film Critics Association (Abracine), and the fiction feature Açúcar (2017).
