About Filmxora
Filmxora is a community-driven movie and TV series tracker built for people who love watching, discussing and discovering audiovisual content. Founded in 2024 by independent developer Josuar Ochoa from Colombia, the platform combines a personal viewing diary with social features and integrated streaming guides.

How it started
Filmxora was born from a personal need: a Spanish-first alternative to Letterboxd that also tracked TV series episode by episode and showed where to watch each title in Latin America. The first version went live in 2024 with a handful of friends; today thousands of people use it in 20+ countries, with native iOS and Android apps.
How we make money
Filmxora is independent and self-funded: optional Premium subscriptions, advertising on the free tier (Google AdSense and Google AdMob) and partnerships with streaming services.
We never sell user data.
Data & content
We use The Movie Database (TMDB) as the source for titles, posters and metadata, and JustWatch for availability, with manual corrections for Latin America. All user content (reviews, lists, ratings) is original and owned by its authors. Blog news posts are AI-assisted summaries that credit and link their source, and Plot, our assistant, uses AI to word its answers from Filmxora and TMDB data.
