Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you wanted to know about how Filmxora works.
Getting started
What is Filmxora?
Filmxora is a community-driven movie and TV series tracker. It lets you keep a personal viewing diary, rate every episode, write reviews with GIFs, follow other users and discover where to legally stream content in your country. Available on web, iOS and Android.
Is Filmxora free?
Yes. The full Filmxora platform is free with optional display advertising. The Premium subscription ($3.99/month, $19.99/year or $149.99 lifetime) removes all ads and unlocks private notes, custom posters, GIFs in reviews, advanced statistics and badges.
Do I need an account?
You can browse Filmxora without an account, but to mark titles as watched, write reviews, follow users or save lists you need to create a free account. Sign up takes under a minute with email or Google.
How do I download the mobile app?
Filmxora is available on the iOS App Store and Google Play. The mobile apps include push notifications when new episodes of your watched series air.
Tracking & reviews
How do I mark an episode or movie as watched?
On any movie or series page, click the checkmark next to the title or expand a season and check individual episodes. The page tracks runtime, your rating, your review and how many times you've rewatched it.
Can I rate every episode separately?
Yes. When you mark an episode as watched, a 0.5–5 star rating selector appears. You can rate each episode independently and Filmxora calculates a per-season average automatically.
Can other users see my reviews?
Public reviews are visible to everyone (and indexed by search engines). Private notes are only visible to you (Premium feature). When writing a review you choose its visibility: public, friends only, or private.
What's the difference between watchlist and favorites?
Watchlist = things you want to watch later. Favorites = things you loved. Both are separate lists you can manage from your profile.
Streaming & availability
Where do you get streaming availability data?
We integrate with JustWatch and the streaming services' own APIs to show where each title is available in your country. Data is updated daily. We support 40+ platforms including Netflix, Disney+, Max, Apple TV+, Prime Video, Paramount+, Hulu, Peacock and many regional services.
Why is the streaming availability different in my country?
Streaming rights are licensed regionally. A movie on Netflix in the US may not be on Netflix in Mexico. Filmxora detects your country (you can change it in settings) and shows only services available where you are.
Premium
What's included in Premium?
- Zero ads (web + iOS + Android)
- Private notes per title (only visible to you)
- Custom posters / backdrops
- GIFs in reviews
- Advanced statistics dashboard
- Premium badge on your profile
- Priority support
How much does Premium cost?
$3.99 USD / month, $19.99 / year (saves 58%) or $149.99 lifetime (one-time). Prices are in your local currency on iOS / Android via App Store / Google Play.
How do I cancel Premium?
Web subscriptions: cancel from your profile settings. iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Android: Google Play → Subscriptions. Lifetime is non-recurring (one-time payment, never charged again).
Account & privacy
Do you sell my data?
No. We never sell or share user data with third parties beyond what's strictly necessary to render content (e.g. fetching titles from TMDB) or process payments (MercadoPago, Apple, Google). Read our privacy policy for full details.
How do I delete my account?
Go to filmxora.com/delete-account and confirm. All your data (reviews, ratings, lists, watch history) is deleted immediately (encrypted backups are overwritten within 14 days). Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription. This action cannot be undone.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Go to the login page and click "Forgot password". You'll receive an email with a reset link valid for 1 hour.
Technical
Why didn't I get a notification for the new episode?
Push notifications require: (1) the mobile app installed and notifications allowed, (2) the series marked as watched (we only notify for series you're actively watching), (3) the episode aired in the last 24 hours according to the platform's typical release time. Check Settings → Notifications to verify.
A title is missing from your catalog. Can you add it?
Filmxora uses TMDB (The Movie Database) as content source. If a title isn't on TMDB, it won't appear here. You can request additions to TMDB directly at themoviedb.org and they'll appear in Filmxora within a few hours.
I found a bug. Where do I report it?
Email [email protected] with a description, screenshot if possible, and the device/browser you're using. We reply within 48 hours.
