What Filmxora does with the file
- It reads every row and works out whether it is an episode or a movie from the title, for example “Wednesday: Season 1: Episode 3”.
- It groups episodes by show and season and saves one entry per episode, with the date from the row.
- It sets Netflix as the platform, so Streamonomics can work out how many hours you watched on Netflix and what each one cost you.
- If you had already tracked some episodes or movies, only what is missing is added.
- Each title gets its TMDB runtime; if TMDB has none, it counts 120 minutes per movie and 45 per episode.
Limitations
- Netflix gives one file per profile. If you use several, repeat the process for each one.
- The Netflix CSV has no ratings, so there are no scores to import.
- Netflix sometimes names episodes without a number (for example “Chapter Two: …”). In that case we know the season but not the exact episode, and the show is logged as watched with estimated hours, without episode-by-episode progress.
- Some titles with local or very regional names may not be found; they are listed at the end with a search link.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I download my Netflix viewing history?
At netflix.com/viewingactivity in a browser: choose the profile, scroll to the end of the list and click “Download all”. The file is called NetflixViewingHistory.csv.
Can I download it from the Netflix app?
This guide uses the Netflix website, which is where the “Download all” button is. You can open it in your phone’s browser.
Are shows imported episode by episode?
Yes, when the row title includes the season and episode number. If Netflix names the episode without a number, the show is logged as watched with estimated hours, without per-episode detail.
Does it count for Streamonomics?
Yes. Everything imported from the Netflix file has Netflix as its platform, and Streamonomics uses those hours to calculate your cost per hour.
Do I have to do it for every profile?
Yes. Netflix creates a separate file per profile, so download and import the one for each profile you want to bring over.
