Import guide

Bring your watch history to Filmxora

You can import your history into Filmxora for free from TV Time, Netflix, Letterboxd, IMDb and Trakt, as well as Disney+, Max, Prime Video and Apple TV. Download your data file (CSV or ZIP) from the other app, upload it to Filmxora, check the preview and confirm. Anything you already tracked is never duplicated.

How it works, step by step

  1. Export your dataDownload the file from the other app using the guide for that source.
  2. Create your accountImporting is free for every Filmxora account; Premium is not required.
  3. Upload the fileOpen Import, pick the source and upload the CSV, or the ZIP as it is.
  4. Check the previewYou will see the shows and movies found in the file and can untick anything you do not want.
  5. ConfirmThe import runs in batches. At the end you see how many titles were added, how many were already there and which ones were not found, each with a search link.

How each title is matched

  • Filmxora uses the TMDB catalog. When the file includes an ID (IMDb, TheTVDB or TMDB), that ID is used and the match is exact.
  • When there is only a name, we search by title and year, try variants (without subtitles or leading articles) and keep the closest result.
  • If a show was matched to a different one with the same name, you can fix it later from your history.
  • Titles that could not be found are listed at the end with a search link.

Limits worth knowing

  • Inside a ZIP only CSV files are read, up to 150 MB uncompressed in total.
  • A large history (hundreds of shows) can take several minutes: keep the tab open until it finishes.
  • Movies and episodes are saved with TMDB runtimes, so your watch time and Streamonomics are accurate.

Frequently asked questions

Does importing my history into Filmxora cost anything?
No. Importing is free for every Filmxora account, on the web and in the app. You do not need Premium.
Will it duplicate what I already tracked?
No. Filmxora only adds what is missing: movies you already had are skipped and, for shows, only the missing episodes are added. When it finishes, a final check removes any exact duplicate.
How are ratings converted?
IMDb and Trakt ratings go from 1 to 10 and are divided by 2 for the 5-star scale, so an 8 becomes 4. Letterboxd ratings are already on a 5-star scale and are kept as they are. The TV Time and Netflix files we read contain no ratings.
What happens to titles that are not found?
They are listed at the end of the import, each with a link to search for it and add it by hand.
What do you do with my file?
It is only used to read your history. To match titles we query the TMDB catalog with each title name or ID, without any account data.
