How to import your Filmow history into Filmxora
To get your history out of Filmow, Letterboxd recommends on its import page CSV generators built by the community. You create the CSV with your Filmow username, upload it to Filmxora choosing Letterboxd, and your watched films come in with their ratings. It is free and never duplicates anything.

Step by step
- Find your Filmow usernameIt is the last part of your profile address: in filmow.com/usuario/maria/ the username is “maria”.
- Create the CSVUse the Portuguese-language generator filmow_to_letterboxd (it needs Python 3.10 or newer; instructions for Windows, macOS and Linux are on its page). Run
filmow-to-letterboxd your_usernameand wait: with many films it takes several minutes. - Find the fileIt creates
your_username.csvin the program folder. With more than 1,900 films you get several files (your_username-2.csv…). - Upload it to FilmxoraIn Filmxora open Import, choose Letterboxd and upload the CSV. If you have several, upload each one or put them all in a ZIP and upload it once.
- Check and confirmLook through the preview, untick anything you do not want and confirm.
What is imported

Keep in mind
- The generator is a community tool, not made by Filmow or Filmxora: it runs on your computer and reads your public Filmow profile. Filmxora never connects to Filmow.
- Letterboxd lists two other options: filmow2letterboxd (a program for Windows, macOS and Linux that creates watched.csv) and filmowReader. Their CSVs also work in Filmxora through the Letterboxd option.
- Filmow shows are not in those CSVs: track them in Filmxora or import them from Netflix or TV Time.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I need a community tool?
Because it is the route Letterboxd gives for Filmow on its import page: a CSV in the Letterboxd format, which Filmxora reads too.
Are my ratings kept?
Yes. The CSV has your 0.5 to 5-star rating and Filmxora saves the same value.
Are my shows and watchlist imported too?
Not with the recommended generator: only watched films and their ratings.
Does Filmxora access my Filmow account?
No. You create the file on your computer and upload it; Filmxora only reads that file.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Importing is free for any Filmxora account.
